Bala Quila (Alwar Fort)

Bala Quila stands roughly 1,000 feet above the city on a hilltop, built on the foundations of a 10th-century mud fort. It’s a landmark example of Rajput military architecture — strong fortifications combined with marble columns and delicate latticed (jharokha) balconies. The fort offers panoramic views over Alwar and is one of the city’s most recognizable sights.

Note: Parts of the fort require permission/escort to visit in full. Check locally for current access rules before planning a trip up.
